Sooo... I bought these when I didn’t care much and just needed lights ( just got the tank and my t5s broke) NOW... I seem to care I have been having troubles with all coral so I’m wondering if anyone knows what they are.

I’m I am running these and orbit marine lights as well. Thanks.

Also do I have enough light. My birds nest is kinda looking better since I started the finnex ( that’s all I really know about it) with the orbit.

I'm not familiar with the finnex. But the standard orbit marine isnt strong enough for most corals. Itll do ok for softies but lps and sps it wont be.

What are the tank dimensions and what you have coral wise would be needed to help answer. However without a PAR meter it will be an educated guess.

An abrupt change in the lighting maybe more of the issue with coloration. Going from the “best” T5 to the “best” LED will cause changes in how happy corals look until acclimated.

What kind of T5 fixture and bulbs were you using before?

Have you diagnosed what is wrong with the broken light? If it’s a fairly common fixture I feel someone here has probably run into the same issue and could help get it back running (or at least figure out if it’s worth fixing)

Good luck.

I have no para meter and it’s all kinda a guess from what I have been reading.

it is a 45 gallon long tank. ( strangely I always thought 50g until I just measured it)

That was light a year ago. J no longer have the fixture but it did fall apart. Didn’t want it to fall in the tank and was far more noobish then I was now.

recently I added the finnex to the obit after I figured out I def dint have enough light. That was a few days ago before that pic was taken though. Also move the birds nest a lot higher in the tank

I see, hopefully the BN will be good. If it were me I would probably stay with softies. Zoa. Paly, Mushrooms, and some leathers may do okay, until the lights are upgraded.

Cheap lightnoff Amazon (Mars aqua Willis leds) are cheap enough and will grow a ton. I have a clam under one
Would I need to run two. I mean I’m the next few months that’s what I’ll do and use the orbit for something else ‍♂️ Brand new for Xmas though loon
