Id these palys please! rare? common?

its under actinic, thats the big difference...

If they were really that over saturated you wouldn't be able to see any detail, which you can, so id say its not been played with too much. Certainly within the acceptable range.

the oversaturation on the pic is insane... i bet they hardly look that bright when you get them. That pic has been doctored.

the center of the mouth...

yes, my comment is just an assumption with no facts to back it. But i've been using photoshop long enough to know hwat i see when i see it. I have been wrong in the past. but it looks to me that someone used a bit much of the "match color" slide bar. lol

I'm not taking away form the paly at all btw... it's def a nice play, that i would purchase if it was allowed to ship here.

this is what the seller claims:
Our photography. When I started asking all those "other guys" that sold me corals what they used for equipment and how they took their pictures, I found out some interesting stuff. Although they didn’t Photoshop the pictures they did use filtered lens on their camera and pumped up the actinic lighting to distort the "naked eye" look of the coral. I keep it real simple. I use a Canon Rebel XT camera with a macro lens and "NO" filters. I run 400 watt XM bulb with 20k. I GUARANTEE WYSIWYG

i pasted it strait from there ad, DID NOT change it in any way

Its a nice red like I said not sure if it came from me but defantly same type and its a sweet one one of my fav's and as far as PE or not it will need to get passed around abit so others can decide but im saying its not at this point as I see no green slit on mine and Ill get a closer pic tonight to show and tell.

I've had them before and yes, they are RPE's w/ speckles... a new batch has showed up early this year... :)

also, to make sure they maintain the speckles, I would recommend MH lighting... IMHO, it's not how many watts/gallon, it's the intensity of the lighting that matters... again, IMHO, MH seems to penetrate the water better than PC, VHO, and T'5's...

T5's with the right reflector have the best penetration. By about 30% at two feet. According to my light meter. Pc have the same drop off rate as MH but like we know not the same intensity. it's hard to say if even right under pc you will get the same color. I give it a 50-50 chance. Just my $0.02 Nice looking zoas and good luck :)

im pretty sure that the ebay seller on the link in question is a sponser on R2R......and all the corals i have received from them have been dead on.

cool.. thanks for the info.. maybe when you get a chance, you can start another topic about this... it'll be nice to see some good comparison with the numbers using a light meter... :)

back to regular programming... ;)

These are my polyps and I have not named them yet. No time...LOL They are currently about 28 inches from my 175W Metal Halides and I have had this colony for almost 4 months now. If anything, in my system they have colored up.

By the way, these are NOT people eater palys. I have another colony from a year ago and they have never had a green or develope a green mouth.

My avitar is the same as Lot C, but they dulled out a bit under my halides. Still trying to experiment how to keep that brite crisp look.
