This stuff is in my frag system. For the most part my hard working herbivores are keeping up with it. But there are some spots they cannot reach due to flow or tight spaces. (My tangs and rabbits are big, fat fish.)

The bryopsis I have seen is much darker than this. This stuff is very tough and clings firmly. This is the longest tuft I have found -- but that may be because of the grazing, not sure. To give you a sense of size, that tuft is on a 1 inch scalpel. Also, a pic under 100X magnification.

Any high conviction suggestions on what it is? Many thanks!

I have something similar that only grows on certain rocks but I think it’s darker green. No idea what it is though..sorry

Only a guess here, but maybe Chlorodesmis Or Cladophora

Wow! Those are some pretty good guesses going by the images. Advantage to Chlorodesmis. Which is of course toxic to corals although I don't see damage currently.

Think I will load up on some crabs and see if they can knock them back. Wait, I just spent a million dollars on berghia so I better figure out if they are crab prey. Two steps forward, 1 & 3/4 back...

@SMSREEF can I ask how you researched these guesses? I hardly know where to start. One of Julian's books?

An emerald should have that gone quickly. Just get them small so they don’t bug your coral and return to LFS when job is done;)

It’s actually a pretty algae and I like it(if it would stay in one place).

I really like this site to help me figure out which macros I want to try in my display fuge. http://www.saltcorner.com/LMAM/ShowChapter.php?ChapterID=18
