If it's Bryopsis it will have ferns on the end of the blades of grass. I was able to get rid of that with a round of Flucanozole. From the pictures it looks like what I have which is turf algae. I've had them all Dinos, Cyano, Bryopsis, Bubble algae and this stuff is the worst, I'm having a hard time getting rid of this. I've tried two rounds of Flucanozole with no luck and presently dosing Vibrant twice a week to see if this has any effect. Out of all my CUC I've only seen the Emerald crab eating it but not enough to make a dent. I will continue to manually remove as much as I can with each WC and hopefully the Vibrant works, but I've heard that it takes longer with this type of algae.

I have green hair algae in my refugium and unlike that this stuff is darker and a lot stiffer. When I manually remove it it comes off easy in mats as long as it's on a flat part of the rock, but not so much if it's in a hole or crevice, so it grows and spreads back over the parts I cleared and becomes a repetitive task.
How old is the tank? By the look of the rocks it looks new and if that's the case it might go away on it's own when the tank becomes more stable.

thank y’all for your responses my tank is a little over a year old. All the parameters are in check. They only live rock that it is growing on are the two that I purchased from LFS. I did not notice the algae when I first put the rocks in. they sprouted a couple of months ago
