I ordered an anemone porcelain crab, and I got this guy. Please let me know what it is and most importantly if it’s reef safe. Thanks

dang you got really scammed, how do they mix up a porcelain crab with whatever that black clawed guy is.

I'm not sure on this one, honestly. I don't currently know any crabs that I'm confident have a body shape like this - this is a good excuse for me to start diving into crab morphology and taxonomy to see if I can't figure something out though.

Wow, not even close. Looks like something I wouldn’t want in my tank. @WheatToast
I am stumped as well. The closest thing I could think of was a coral guard crab (Trapezia), which protect branching stony corals. However, they have eyes that are larger and more spaced-out compared to those of OP’s crab.

Due to black tips, I would truly not consider this crab likely a xanthid related to gorilla crab even in the sump. Hard to see on my phone but may be a convex reef crab or stone crab

Thanks all commented. Contacted the vendor and hopefully get refunded. I was kinda of bump, first they ran out of what I wanted then sent only one crab and it was wrong. Now I gotta deal with this crab which I made an acclimation box just for him to live in for the time being.

Do you have a sump to put this fella in? Maybe you could leave it there to scavenge/eat detritus and eventually start a successful fast food chain after hiring a sponge and a cephalopod.

In an acclimate box, I feed him regularly so
