I'd this fish please

I bought this fish from Petco they told me it was a juvenile Sailfin Tang is it really or did I get duped

Damsel /a terror fish not a tang. Take back to store.

Two stripe damsel, dascyllus reticulatis. I would ask for the store manager on this one.

Definitely a damsel. A $3-$5 fish. While a sailfin would cost around $30 at petco. They were way off on that one . I would definitely speak to someone so it doesn't happen again.

Dan I didn't know two juveniles Sailfin Tang looks like so okay you're right I should have done my research but still they should not have charged me for a Sailfin Tang and give me a damsel whoever Works back there should know what they have there supposed to be professionals whether it's Petco or some other fish store

The LFS should be somewhat of an authority on selling fish and properly ID’ing common fish. Consumers should be educated but many rely on LFS for expertise when new to the hobby, which although often not a good idea, it IS reasonable to assume a LFS can identify common fish like this properly.

The dejardini looks a bit different from a regular sailfin but a sailfin nonetheless
