I received this rock with a Kenya tree on it for free and about 2 weeks later this guy came out of the rocks kinda looks like a zoa but with longer looking feelers. Please let me know. Thanks a ton.

seriously though its aiptasia, if you don't deal with it now it will spread like wildfire. i've always just doused them with hot FRESH water and it eradicates them. some people use peppermint shrimp as they sometimes eat them but its a hit or miss.
best of luck

When it comes to a single aiptasia bust out the superglue, touch it with the tip and then cover the hole it is in. The dollar store tubes, single shot use.
You will never see it again :-)

aiptasia, kill it with fire

THIS!

Seriously though, just super glue over it and make sure you super glue any holes around it as it may retract into one crevice and pop out another. OR pull out the rock and chisel off the chunk of rock with the aiptasia on it. Don't try to brush / scrape it off the rock...you'll be sorry that you did that.

Kill it at all costs it's a nightmare if I don't catch before they spread. I've used aptasia X before and it works pretty good. Or you can just use tweezers to pluck
the larger ones off.
If you use peppermint shrimp they might eat your anemones (if you have any) and other things. Some filefish will also eat them.
But get it before it spreads!!!!

Wow I thought it was some kind of coral or something. I do have a peppermint shrimp but he hasn't touched it. So for the super glue just any kind or does it need to say aquarium safe or something on it? And for the hot water do I use ro water and heat it up or what? I can't really take out the rock its on.

Also thanks for the help so quickly you all are amazing here on r2r.

Any super glue gel should be fine. I wouldn't take tweezers to it and try to pluck it out as it will almost certainly leave parts of the Aiptasia stuck to the rock and that's all it needs to grow again. If you can't remove the rock for a minute or two to break off the piece the Aiptasia is on, super glue is the next best thing at this point.

Thanks a ton I really don't want an outbreak so I Did a little more research and it looks like it could get bad quickly so I think removing the rock and chiseling it is my best option. Also what about aptasia x? any luck with that anyone?

You can also grab a small bottle of lemon juice and a small miniature turkey baste and turn all powerheads off so there's no flow and squirting each one while they're open. Took care of my issue with them years ago
