well i have a biocube 14gallon and planning on 3 fish and corals. i might upgrade the lighting to the ai prime hd but if i can get something cheaper id rather buy the cheaper lolWhat are your plans for this light? coral/fish/refugium/sump? If for coral what kind and how deep is your water?
yea ill just stick to the stock lights and later on upgrade to a ai prime hd led..Personally for that price I'd rather get a Chinese box off of eBay or Amazon. At least then you know what your getting into.

it makes sense cause his tank he's selling is full of algae haha..Personally that looks like a freshwater light. Usually planted tanks are 6,700k but a 10,000k makes it look a little more blue. Then saltwater is something like 20,000k+. The issue would be the red in the lower color temp is usually what algae likes and your corals aren't going to glow under 10,000k light it would with 20,000k.
No keep replying!!! What lights are those??? Your tank looks awesome
oAI Hydra 26HD (basically the set up from the prime). This light is overkill for what I have in it but I bought it as an investment so I could upgrade in the future to a larger tank and keep this light and move it over (if I got a 40 gallon Id probably have two of these over it)
Algae and coral grow under the same light. Cuz coral has algae in it. The difference between reef and fresh is it's a more true full spectrum yes around 5600. By full I mean a more even spread of all frequencies. A reef tank is not truly a full spectrum and the 10k and 20k are not truly balanced. They emulate light at the different depths of water. Also by pulling the g y o and r it makes the corals look better. Instead of brown Luke under a true full spectrum light.Personally that looks like a freshwater light. I was going to get something like a Prime or a Kessil for my Biocube, but ultimately decided I wanted to keep the lid on the tank and got an LED Retrofit from Nanobox Reef. It was pretty easy to install and I enjoy the features that come with it. I just got an Innovative Marine Abyss tank, so I will be moving everything from the Biocube into that, and I plan on getting a Duo from Nanobox Reef for that tank. My favorite thing about the light is that it simulates weather conditions in whatever area you have the light setup for. Mine is set up for my local weather, but you could set it for, say, a place like Fiji if you wanted to. I have an AI Hydra 52 HD (same makers of the Prime) for my 68 gallon, and I like the light, but I bought it with the impression that it would also simulate cloud cover. Turns out that's only with the older models if you have a controller for said older model. I do like the light cover though.
