I found this in my sump. Everytime i go near it it shots back into the rock.

Eh, they grow in large numbers. def google them. Major major pain..
If you can take the rock out and kill it. I us a flat screwdriver or chisel and just pop it off the rock.

You can also super glue over it after making it retract. Use gel super glue
