Worried about their presece inthere?
If you are not concerned about having bristleworms then there is nothing to be worried about. Your friend who though they were bristleworm larvae wasn't quite right, but was on the right track. It is part of the bristleworm life cycle.

Thx. For the info. I just saw few vids on yt and it seems youre right. Thx.
No i dont worry aout the worms, a consider them beneficial as long their population is in chech.. would nocturnal pod eating fishes find interesting these as well?

Also just to be clear when I say a bristleworm epitoke I am not necessarily referring to the common bristle worm (Eurythoe complanata). I'm just saying I'm almost positive it's an epitoke from a worm in the brsitleworm class. Still nothing that I would worry about.

As for the fish eating them part, my best guess would be that most fish would be interested in eating a small squiggly thing swimming in the water column.

I hear you.. thx. Well we will see, hope its not some nasty fireworm offspring :D

Interestingly, it is fairly new setup,, chose option with dry rock to avoid introducing nasties and been taking radical measures when introducing frags.. still these guys are finding they way in.. funny, the way things works..

Since these guys are out only at night i was thinking cardinalfih might be predator of choice ;)

The ones I see in my tank I have always seen at night also, but I'm not sure if that is because that's when they get released or because fish eat them during the day. I have a melanurus wrasse that I'm sure would eat them if he is awake. I've always suspected the ones I see in my tank (which look like the ones in your video) are from dorvilleidae worms but I don't know enough about them to be sure.

Unless you have an incredibly strick quarantine procedure for everything that goes into your tank, hitchhikers will always find a way into the tank. Most of the things that find a away into our tanks are a good source of biodiversity. It's just dealing with the occasional bad one that sucks.

I don't think you have any reason to be concerned. I think the epitoke from a bearded fireworm would be much larger than th one in the video.

thats so true,, as the matter of fact last year I've lost battle to vermetids, aiptasias and all kinda nasties.. bacame tired and restarted.. new pipes , valves, pumps washed in vinegar,, all by the book.. So as I said fresh start, no lr, but dry rocks, no sand just bb,, i've got no quarantine tank though.. just strict rules.. while acclimating no foreign water enters the system,, corals are dipped in fw than later in sw with iodine., all frag rocks removed (with coral bases) and corals attached to my dry plugs,, still every now and than im surprised by noticing organisms that should not be there.

they just find their way in..
