Just acquired this pretty frag, about 1.75" long. Can someone help me ID it? I've placed it about 2/3 to the bottom of the tank, and it seems happy enough for now. Want to make sure it's where it needs to be in the tank and is getting the care it requires.

Thanks in advance!

Yesss... Thank you!
+1 to ID and aggression. If it touches anything, it will definitely kill it. I've used it as a barrier to contain particularly prolific corals before.

My guess is H. rigida if you wanted species.

Thanks for the ID! [emoji106]

Looks like it needs a lot of light to be successful. I'm running 216 watts of ATI T5s for about 6 hours a day, supplemented by 192 watts of crappy Current LEDs for about 14 hours a day. Should I move the frag higher in the tank?

I read somewhere they have a long reach. Think it was 6 inches. Never had mine reach that far. They are also a fast grower so take that into consideration.

Holy. Moly. Thankfully I've been making it a habit to start new frags I'm not familiar with well away from anything else in the tank. How long are the tentacles?

Mine threw 1” sweepers.

I've seen some as long as 3-4". Can be crazy aggressive. I stopped carrying it because of how often it would eat other corals nearby, even with a wide berth. Took up too much tank space. :p
