It's hydroids.
fairly new to the hobby and i came on this forum for another response, first mistake i did was buy live rock, shouldve went with dry rock, and ive been dealing with the hydriods that stick to the glass, ive been sucking them out in the water changes but if that digate hydriods i might just ditch the rock and buy some dry rock and start over with dry rock or something
Well since its hydriods, what would be the best way to go about this, i want to start over, everything dead this time, because atm i have 2 kinds of hydriods in this tank, and i want to start over fresh

That's not what is called "digitate". But they are pretty much all the same, though, with some varieties being more niche than others. A lot of times they can have a little flare up and then they die off...... sometimes. By saying you have the ones that "stick to the glass", do you mean the Medusae? That's a different part of the life cycle of those above, not two different types.

Yes, they are indeed the medusae stage of the hydroid polyp in your first pic. Hydroids can occur in the early stages of a tank. A couple of the pictures and videos in Humble's link are of one of my tanks. I never did anything about them and they just eventually disappeared as the tank matured. One thing that's plentiful in new tanks is diatoms, which is a perfect food for pods, which in turn is a perfect food for hydroids. Even if you can't see the diatoms, they're there.

Yes, that rock isnt a baserock, i can simply pick it up, and its real reef rock which is easy to break off. right now im siphoning out the sand every waterchange to replace with a coarser grain so i am moving a few rocks around

Give it a little toothbrush action outside of the tank. Your tank is going to loose some pods with the siphoning, but with the changing of the sand and the disturbing of the rock, you'll probably get more diatoms.... which will again give you more pods..... to feed your hydroids. It's honestly not a reason to get rid of your rock and is sometimes just growing pains.
im going to examine the rocks more tonight and take care of it in the morning, ive also been trying siphoning out them little critters on my glass as well. and also thank you both for helping out, i really appreciate it

In my regular tanks I literally did nothing and they went away. When it popped up in the seahorse fry tank, it had to be taken care of or it would sting the babies to death. Three hydroids could cover a tiny fry! Twice a day I would siphon them out. It was a breeding tank, so fry was a "natural problem" with the types of foods and nutrient level. Went I found the polyps growing amongst some algae, I was able to permanently remove them from the tank.
I've had all sorts of hydroids. I'm the kind of person to let everything grow, just to see what it will do. Sometimes it backfires and I realize I maybe should have removed something when it was a singleton and not a whole army.

i recently cleaned off the rock a few days ago in a water change and i noticed even more of them are popping up now, and its just on this rock, should i just keep cleaning the rock off until they are gone or is their something else i can do with this rock
