ID this?

Looking at the picture, there are a lot of pellets in the mass. I'm sticking with bacterial and would remove it as it seems to be the pellets decaying. Sponges never incased any food from my experience.
It's in a low flow area that tends to collect debris, if that helps your assessment. And I cant be 100% sure they are food pellets. When I aquascaped, I had a lot of live rock that shed chunks of coraline, so theres a lot of little pink pieces in my sandbed.

I'm going to have to flip flop again. With the added details of this,
"It's in a low flow area that tends to collect debris… I had a lot of live rock that shed chunks of coraline, so theres a lot of little pink pieces in my sandbed.",
coupled with these,
“Noticed last week, shortly after moving some frags around…” (exposed to light, just starting to color up.),
"I can move and stretch it, but always comes back together, no loose pieces." (does have structure.),
and it looks like it has spicules in the pictures, (any apparent osculum yet?)
….I now have to dive back into the sponge camp.:)
Okay, enough sleuthing. I am curious as to what it turns out to be. @dugthefish, you have eyes on, hands on, what do you think it is? If you haven’t removed it could you please post another picture in a few weeks? Thanks.;Bookworm

looks like uneaten frozen food mass.
Remove it and place in glass dish for further and closer inspection.

I have no idea what it is, but it doesn't seem to be hurting anything. For now, I plan to leave it be, monitor, and post any changes. This being my first reef started without actual, ocean live rock (and the accompanying biodiversity), I plan on leaving anything not malignant.

Well, whatever it was, it's gone now. Been busy last couple days, so I don't know if it dissolved or floated somewhere else. Leaning towards dissolved. I will update again if it should reappear/reoccur.
