I found about 5 of them. They had a hard shell so I aggressively scrapped it and hoped to smash any living thing in it.

Yeah, kill them now. I didn't kill them when I had the chance and they turned into razor sharp knives that have left scars on my fingers and my fish.

Its really not when you have an abundance of them.
They poke perfect 1cm circles in my finger tips if i squeeze hard enough.
My tank has processed dozens of fingertip core samples lol.
