ID what's on my coral

Hello guys,

Hope everyone is doing good. I recently noticed part of my zoa closing and I looked closely today and I noticed this white ring. Should I be concerned ? I know the red growth is aiptasia. I am currently battling bubble algea and and red slime algea. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not seeing any Aiptasia, though the white ring appears to be the tubular shell of the orange/red tube worm at the center of the image. They are harmless filter feeders.

They dont necessarily hurt them directly and are fine to leave in most places. However if they are touching your coral like this one it can irritate it and cause it to close up which is not good for long term health or spreading.

Looks like you have a pretty nice colony going there, it looks like only one polyp is bothered. I think there is more harm than good by trying to remove it.

I honestly don't know what kind of zoa it is. The guy at the fish store recommended this coral for me since Im a newbie. It's been doing good but recently two polyps closed. I don't know what to do.

Thank you. I am trying. I also have GSP. I was reading that Zoas sometimes just close for no reason. I was thinking of dosing my tank but since it's nano tank (10 gallons) WCs should suffice.
