I couldn't find anything on them so I guess I was hoping it wasn't. What is the best way to treat the small cell and are they toxic ? I'm guessing dino x is not going to cut it .Why did you think it wasn't dinos?
These are Small Cell Amphidinium dinos, and one euplotes (probably) ciliate.
One of the things that's most distinctive about chrysophytes is that they look so much like dinos, but are always immobile.It’s hard to see but I had a similar algae that was ID’d as Chrysophytes. It was stringy with bubbles like Dino’s but went away post cycle when the brown diatoms did.
