I always leave Leathers in the tank until I see them start to dissolve. At that point they aren't coming back. So even if it looks battered, until you see it melt, you can leave em alone.

One piece is just shredding to the slightest touch, I found 3 other hitchhikers, 1 what looks to be a bristle starfish, and 2 more bristle worms not to mention a few amphipods
EDIT: I just found what looks like 2 other really small bristle starfish could be wrong though

Yea, I'd take it out now. If it comes apart with just the wave of the water, its done.

Well one piece seems pretty strong, I'll leave that one but the other piece breaks to the touch, I also added kent marine reef nano part A&B

Also found this little guy, small starfish with 3 legs growing back it looks like

I have a bunch of thos in my tank. No issues. They are more common than one would think. And most don't touch corals.

This one has little speckles of color also is it a good sign that feather dusters are out?
