If your tank is only a couple of weeks old, it is going through normal "uglies" stage where you will get all sorts of stuff growing. Get yourself an appropriate clean up crew that can feed on the algae.... All of this is normal.

Try to keep from overfeeding, adding stock too quickly. Try to find stability in your key parameters and let your tank age. Go slow...

Thanks so much for the help and the welcome! I had a nonexistent cycle, since I used cured LR and am going bare bottom, so I wasn’t sure if I would skip the normal ugly phases. I look forward to updating about my tank on the site!

If you started as suggested, even more important to get a CUC in there to keep the place "kept". Reefcleaners is a good place to find a cleanup crew sized for your tank. LiveAquaria is another place.
