This is my 8" monti colony. Two days ago it was perfectly healthy and happy. Later that day it had a thick white/clear film over it which you can still see. It seems to be dying. Is this an infection? Pest? What is it and/or can I do anything to save the coral?

Water params are Alk 12.3, Calc 460, Mag high at 1600 (per Red Sea), NO3 0 PO3 .08.

alk is high.. not saying that did or did not cause this, but that's certainly on the high side.. many times when I've had rtn issues it's been associated with instable alk..

I'd Frag it ASAP to save any clean living tissue and use a coral dip like Coral RX, MelaFix Marine or even Lugol's Solution to stop the infection from spreading. BIG FYI, stop all water flow before removing from tank, you don't want to distribute the diseased tissue to other corals.

Cheers, Todd
