Idea for connecting rock structures....need thoughts

so just got a large amount of caribsea liferock shapes and odds and ends and when i used them on my last tank i made 3 strutures that all rested on each other this time id like them to come apart easier for moving them

I know people use acrylic rods in holding scapes together but what about using rods and tubes so you can have piece hold together but then slide out when needed????

Thoughts or anyone seen it done?

I have seen people drilling holes into the rocks and then threading them with some kind of string or wire. Generally done with very odd shaped pieces.

Yeah i bought the mushroom pieces and arches with how i want the rock structure would be like 80lbs and 4ft long so i dont want it as one piece
