I have a question about propagating of chalice corals, montipora and other encrustercorals I am considering the appropriate size of grow out disks to maximize growth potential of my encrusters do they grow faster as a larger colonies? Or do they grow faster as multiple smaller colonies? If smaller how much smaller before the stress of being that small is counter intuitive?

Most people have one or two main propagation colonies, with a back up or two and maybe some smaller ones

Appreciate the response! How big do they usually keep the 2 colonies? Most of my colonies are about the size of a baseball would they grow faster overall if I split them into say 4-7 frags?
