Ideal Quarantine Size

QT sizing is based on your fish size that you are QTing. Are you planning multiple fish at once or singly?

I have used a ten gallon in the past, but currently have a dedicated 20 long for qt. It gives a bit more swim room, but not so large that huge water changes are a pain. Remember with some mess you have to change 50% or more after certain doses.

10 gallons has been the sweetspot for me. It's large enough to hold medium size fish and multiple corals temporarily, yet small enough to be easy and cost effective to do full water changes. Also if you don't like doing math, the ten gallons makes it easy to do calculations for dosing medications and what not.

I like 20 longs. You get the length for those fish that likes to swim, but still a manageable size.
