Ideal refugium tank size

I currently have a standard 90 gallon running as my ‘fuge in a basement sump setup and have been wanting to rebuild the fish room (this tank is on an old, worthless stand), which got me thinking if this is the best option for a full size refugium tank. I have it with a deep sand bed and a couple rocks, but it’s mostly just a big mass of chaeto lit by a kessil h380. Truth be told it’s working fine, and I regularly pull a kitchen size garbage bag of chaeto out. But with rebuilding a stand and the prospect of draining and moving this tank, would it be worth considering a different tank setup? Something with dimensions similar to a lowboy? Would love to hear from others with large refugiums what size they have and what kind of dimensions they like.

My Philosophy is, " if it ain't broke don't fix it."

If your current setup is working well why change it? Unless of course you're going with a bigger DT.

In this hobby I have learned very quickly if something is working don't mess with it.

It is working, however, I want to clean up and make the basement fish room a bit more organized and add a frag tank. I also have my doubts on the stand that the refugium is sitting on. Its just an old, cheap pressed board stand. We had a small earthquake a month or so ago and I'm surprised it didn't come crashing down. That being said, it might be best to just continue to use the tank I have been using on a new stand.
