Tossing around some ideas and doing some hypothetical planning, if I wanted to house a pair of ocellaris clowns, a royal gramma, and a fire fish, what would be a safe tank size?

40 gallon breeder would be a nice starting point for your live stock mentioned above.

But I would go as big as you can go both budget and maintenance wise as you will want to add more live stock to this the more you get into this hobby and more you see fish you like.

I think maybe a 30 or 40 aio. Very peaceful fish, but a clown can sometimes turn “buggy”. Obviously all tanks are different, bio-loads are different, so 30 or 40 gallons is just a rough statement.

IM Nuvo 40g. Easy to use. Easy to maintain. Can take a real skimmer (Tunze 9004 DC) if you decide you want it. Star fire glass, comes with return pump. Go FOWLR and just add a heater or go coral/anemones and add a light and powerhead too.
