So I’ve read some things on ideal temperature for reef tank. I am currently running temp at 77.5 degrees but am having a issue with dinoflagellates, I believe. Will slowly increasing tank to a higher temp like 80-82 degrees really help? Or do more harm then good?

I don't know if increasing your tank temp is going to do anything for Dinos. Also, I'd be concerned about killing off some of your nitrifying bacteria colony.

I've never heard of raising tank temp as a way of battling Dinos. Did you read this somewhere or is it your theory?

If you read it somewhere, I'd like you to post a link. I'd be interested in reading more.

Dinos are weird. They showed up in one of my tanks. I ended up rehoming everything in the tank to other tanks in my house. Then I completely broke down the tank and reassembled. The Dinos never came back. Don't know why they came and I don't know why they never came back. LOL

I googled it and number 6 of that list if something I never have heard of either. Wondering if anyone runs a higher tank temp these days. I know back in the day tank temp was usually higher because of older pumps and halide lighting that was used.

Which this is not my first fish tank but just curious if this could work. If slowly raising tank and running alittle hotter I’m wondering how things would be. Like raise 1 degree everweek then run constant at 80-82 degrees.
