Ideas for open cabinet and sumps

Hi everybody
I am planning a new build and want to go with an open cabinet with sump and equipment.
The main tank would be 60"x28"x22".
Sump 40"x24"x10".
The stand I like to use the 8020 T slot Alu extrusion.

Can you share some ideas and pictures of builds that have gone this way and distance?

Any idea how to choose the section of the Aluminum profiles?

@Terry4505 just finished an open stand build that turned out terrific. Now his sump is in his basement but you may still get some ideas. His build is the only "open" one I can think of. Take a look here:

Thanks a lot David. That is nice stand.
I guess not too many people want to have the lower compartment open.
There can be lots of noise from the skimmer and pumps.
It is also the only place of the tank where you can let go some of the tidiness with all the cables, equipment and so on.
As soon as I have some more concrete ideas, I will be posting them here.

I recently converted my stand from enclosed to partially open front and back. It's become light years easier to work under the tank and made it easier for me to make it look cleaner and a bit more organized

This is one heck of a sexy sump.

My only complaint is that the skimmer is far from silent. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't matter. But because the tank is in the living room and the stand is wide open (for now) everything is heard.

Thank you Terry. I have gone through your thread and now this is what I am preparing for the future.
Peninsula tank (60x28x24), ghost overflow, open cabinet with sump, hanging light fixture (T5's),...
Your build has it for almost 95% until this point (see picture above)... before you moved all to the basement. Which is also a good option. Unfortunately, houses in Europe do not have big basements and we install all in cabinet.
The only concern I have until now with this open-cabinet-thing, is the noise. You repeat it several times (Jeboa DC pump, skimmer).
My tank will be in the living room as well.
Luckily there is now the vectra pumps and as I am running now a Nyos Quantum skimmer, I found the solution for that one also!
