For some reason I have a infatuation with raising pods in my tanks and sumps to self sustaining levels. Couple tricks I came up with they may help some others.

First was by mistake.

I dropped a piece of tubing in my skimmer section of my sump. I forgot to get it out. Week later I have a handful of pods living in it. After a month it now host a hundred or so.

Second one was a fix to a issue. Kept having pods in my first sump chamber. Was getting upset with seeing them end up in my socks. Thought about pulling the socks, then they would have to make it past 6 pumps in my skimmer section. So I improvised.

Had a sicce micro laying around, stuck that in the far corner and ran a line across my skimmer chamber to my sump display to avoid the danger area. I then added a good amount of rock in the first chamber for the pods to live in. After a month I probably have a thousand of so mature pods I can watch play every night. They actually grab the extra food that comes in and carry it around and eat it. Pod levels stabilized in the other 3 tanks that are also attached to the sump. Now I rarely get any pods in my socks.

Hope this helps some of you raise some pods in some different areas of the sump. Nice to have a actual safe space for them to breed.

I do have some pod hotels in a hob ref on my main tank. Performs no where close to the sump.
