He died in hospital tank yesterday. I’ve been treating the system for a week now with metro and prazi and the Lights off. And you’ve seen the other posts with the tang. Seems like the same thing. My Purple tang, scopus tang and Foxface seem to have recovered quite a bit. Very minimal spots at all. And my large blonde Naso seems unaffected at this point. All are eating like crazy and swimming like they used to.

First pic looks like a dead fish that’s gotten covered in bacteria after death.
That second pic seems reminiscent of velvet with the fuzzy coat.
Mixing meds is not generally recommended, that could have been the biggest issue, especially for a more sensitive fish like a trigger.

What was the copper power dose?
Any rapid breathing in the remaining fish?

Im worried it might be velvet/Amyloodinium. With all that mucus, it could also be brooklynella….copper won’t help with that, and that might explain why other fish are still ok

I believe it was right around 2.0. A friend of mine that’s a LFS helped me set up the hospital tank last Saturday. I’ve been dosing the display tank of over a week now with Metroplex and now that both the powder blue and trigger died and looked exactly the same way. All the other fish in the display seem to be getting better. No noticeable rapid breathing. Here’s a video of my large blonde Naso

Well, the naso has some fine spots on its pectoral fin (may have them on its body as well, they just how up better on clear fins). The fish isn't breathing hard, but it sure looks like velvet. Copper Power typically needs to be dosed at 2.5 io order to clear velvet.

Also, the tank seems murky and there is a lot of uneaten food. That can cause bacterial blooms, low dissolve oxygen and high ammonia.

Jay,

like I said I’m not 100% on what the level he set it at, but I can check it later and see. I can have him come over with his Hannah checker and let me know. But he said it was at the recommended level. Also the tank or cloudy because I’ve been dosing metroplex straight to my display to be able to treat all the fish at once and not have to try and catch them all in such a large tank. I just fed the tank and turned the lights on to take the video and show the Naso. It was all gone within a few minutes :)
