I am going to have a separate refugium that is lit, but I think I also want to have the option to light the sump. I will probably grow macro algae there also. Looking at the price of lighting a sump using what is sold can be quite the rip off. 10 years ago I was using a piece of glass over my sump and an outside CFL flood light. It grew macro algae in insane amounts. I definitely want something cleaner than that though. What are my options that will not break the bank? I want standard white lighting, none of the red or blue colors. I know for a fact that plain clean white light will grow macro algae in large amounts. I could hang a light but if there was something that already exist that can clip to the sump that may be more ideal.

I watched it, I am still not sold on spending $300++ on a sump light. The lower priced Flora is attractive but they make it out that it did not perform well comparing the wattage to price ratio.
