Ok it’s running already but that idea is pretty good, should I just use a blade to trim the excess silicone?Silicone will work temporarily but will take 24 hours to setup and will also make a larger mess you will have to clean up out of the crack in oredr to get the weld on 16 in there. You could use a larger piece of acrylic that covers the crack by alot and just caulk around the edge of that piece to seal the crak off and then when the weld on gets there take that piece off and fix the crack. Then you just have to clean up where the outer edges were rather than tryng to get silicone out of the crack. Just one idea.
Would applying it to the top of the crack and around it benefit it?In my opinion. If the crack has little or no space between the crack, Weld-On #4 will work much better. Weld-On #16 should not be used on a crack because it will shrink and stress the crack and may result in the crack growing larger.
