Identification and removal help

As you can see this green algae has been growing on my rocks and sand, it's becoming more widespread and not sure what it is or how to get rid of it. Any help appreciated.

It looks like green wire algae. I had that in my tank for several months (at about the same age as your tank) and struggled to control it. When I also started seeing green bubble algae, I put a couple of emerald crabs in my tank because they're known to eat bubble algae. But as it turned out, the crabs didn't touch the bubble algae but they loved eating the green wire algae, and after several weeks it was completely gone! I still have small patches of bubble algae that the emerald crabs won't touch, but luckily it hasn't really spread.

If you look at the various images in the article linked below, I'm guessing the ones above look most like sample H or I in the article which are non- or weakly-toxic.

I think you're right... Something about them caught my eye the wrong way I guess, when I first saw those pictures. lol

They are mohawk palys, anything to be worried about?

You can tell better when the blue lights are on, I made it white just to take a picture m normally they are quite pink

Thanks! Same story actually, I started seeing some bubble algae around the same time. I've been battling dinos so haven't been complaining much since it seems the dinos have recessedd but these new algae have been thriving a bit

Always better safe than sorry. A local reefer just recently told me about her encounter with palytoxin that damaged her eyesight! It's scary stuff.
