What is this please? I just found it attached to my return pump. When I tried to detach it some bubbles came out of it.

Never seen anything like this before.

Yeah that is new one for me, no idea, no idea even where to start.
 
It doesn't move. the two "fingers" were growing towards the light in my sump.
just got a better picture. Something is in it.

My partner wants to keep it... not sure about that :)

Tunicates are harmless filter feeders. This guy may not be the prettiest creature in your system, but still useful and interesting ... and by the way, many folks are unable to keep tunicates for any great length of time, so pat yourselves on the back for that one!

Also interesting ... the closest relatives in your tank to tunicates . . . are your fish. Tunicates are members of Phylum Chordata.
