just noticed this growing on the side of my rock, pretty sure its sponge? is this fine to keep or more of one to keep an eye on. let me know :)

so it didnt come off when i wafted it. so ig its sponge, you said its harmless but how fast does this grow on average?

For clarification here, what do you mean when you say you wafted it?

For your question though, it depends on the sponge; some sponges grow invasively fast while others grow slowly (if they grow in our tanks at all).

Most sponges are harmless (even most of the invasive ones), but if corals start acting unhappy when the sponge gets close to them, or if the sponge starts growing over and smothering the coral's polyps, then it's a problem sponge.
 
gotcha gotcha, @ISpeakForTheSeas i wafted as in like pulsed some water in that area, i did it relatively close to so i feel like if it was cyano it wouldve lifted off. but good to know that theyre relatively harmless i was planning on putting some candy canes in that area but was concerned if the sponge would be a problem.
