Identification help

I found an oyster shell while snorkeling in Port St Joe, Florida. It has something like a polyp growing on it. Can anyone identify this?

Tunicate or Whelk snail eggs?

They almost look like Tarantinaea lignaria eggs but the little half moon cut out on them makes me second guess it...

Thank everyone for the help. I think it must be the Tulip egg casing. I had never thought of egg casing so thank you very much for the possible id. I also found something that looks like whelk egg casing. Not sure of course. I will add a picture of it also.
