Identification of Rabbitfish

Calling all experts! Nobody has been able to ID this fish for months. Does anybody have an idea?

I've got too much stuff to do for searching through the listings, but go to Fishbase, type "Siganus" in the genus portion of the search, then search. You'll get a list of several dozen rabbitfish, mostly with pictures.

Maybe S. fuscescens or S. luridis.

It’s solid gold with blue spots everywhere, it is not a spotted rabbitfish

Id guess Siganus Punctatus but the description of blue spots everywhere doesn’t really match, more bronze spots outlined with blue.... does look similar to the camo mode images you posted though

Little blue spots or big blue spots? Not a rabbitfish expert but it appears many look similar as juviniles and the closest I found was siganus sutor https://www.fishwisepro.com/Pictures/details?Zoom=True&SId=67802&PictureId=17, which has bigger blue spots or S. fuscescens as mentioned above which appears to have small blue spots. Unless a rabbitfish expert turn up I think you might have to wait until it's a little larger.

Looks pretty close I have to be honest. The weird thing is that it has brown dots on its tail. Weird markings. We shall see, but I think you’re right!
