Identification of unknown inhabitant

Hi all.

Unsure of the ID for these that I have recently noticed. Tank is 8 months old

They are located on the back side of the rock work in a high flow area. There are a handful there. They are around 6mm long (0.20 inch)

Can’t say I have seen them move.

Can anyone ID please. Good or bad?

poke them and see if they respond at all. i have a couple guesses but seeing if they can retract would pretty much answer it

Pineapple sponges. Common in new tanks. Good filter feeders.

No need to poke them. They are pineapple sponges
