Good morning all,
new to the hobby and forum. My wife stopped by the lfs and picked up some coral. I believe what she purchased was favities coral. It seems to be doing pretty well. Sweepers come out, color looks good, and I've been target feeding it twice a week. This morning I've woken up and it has a mound growing on it. Is this bad? Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry, yes it is the same color. Hopefully this picture will help!

Looks to be a war coral. Which is a type of favites.

Thank you that's what I was leaning towards but needed confirmation. Any insight on the bump growing up on it?

It doesn't look bad, I'd keep an eye on it but I think it's probably ok, almost looks like where the original plug may have been but if you didn't notice it before then probably not the case
