Hello

I need help identifying what this is. I think its red bugs, but not sure. I blew the picture up as much as I could. Its the black dot on the left side of the frag disk.

Thanks
Randy

Well...It's extremely hard to tell from the photo. Can you get a better photo? From the shape, it looks like a planaria, but without seeing a better photo, it's just a black spot on the disk.

Very hard to tell from pic but if a red orange color and moving about could very well be. The one thing I have noticed about Red Bugs though is that they have a tendency to mainly stick to thin skinned Acros and rarely bother Corals like Seriatopora/Birdsnests, Stylopora/Catspaw, Pocillopora or Milli's etc...
Hopefully not a Red Bug would definitely check out all other Acros.

Cheers, Todd

Thanks Todd

After looking at a picture of a red bug, I don't think its a red bug. Its more of a brown color.

Good to hear man, there plenty enough challenges in this hobby to not have to deal with Red Bugs... lol

Attached another pic. Still not a good pic. Its so small it hard to get a good pic. Its on the right hand side.

Thanks
Randy

I
have been battling them as well. They are attacking acropora and eating it like doughnuts. I have just treated with a 250% interceptor dosage and it did not touch them!! I have now treated another 250% dosage again this morning with no water changes or carbon added yet so basically a 500% dosage of interceptor in a 12 hour period. We decided to increase the dosage initially after reading posts of how hardy these pests are. If anyone has had success getting rid of them please chime in...
For those wondering interceptor can still be ordered on net from overseas.
