I am new to the saltwater community and found this hitchhiking snail on some liverock. Trying to search for the kind but not too sure. Is it a sundial snail? It’s about 1 1/2-2mm

Not a sundial snail, their shells are pretty flat. That snail has a pointy shell which sort of looks like a baby turbo snail to me but to be safe we'll call on the rest of the #reefsquad and see if we can get a solid answer.

Mexican turbo snail gets my vote

Ok I don’t think it’s a sundial anymore. Apparently they have a cone shape cap also, which this one does not.

I also read on another forum it could possibly be a banded Trochus snail.

I’m just wondering if I should keep it or not. I’m leaning yes at the moment, now that I’m confident it’s not a sundial.

It could be a trochus as well, I can see the resemblance. I would keep an eye on it as it grows. It will probably be fine for now since it is so small.

Okay so back on topic lol can I dip my zoas to help them?
I didn't catch what your zoa issue is or what the background is for the question but:
Yes, I think most people at least dip before introduction.
I use CoralRx but there are tons of options. (Diluted H2O2 is what I'd use for any obvious algae)

*also inspect and brush/scrape off anything you see,,, pests, eggs, etc.
