Identify spot on cabbage leather

I've had this green cabbage leather for a few months. It developed 2 holes in the middle. Now one of the holes is covered over in rust color. I dipped it in coral rx last week and for 1 day I couldn't see the rust color anymore, however it came back. Any idea what this is and how I can help the coral? I also found a type of worm thing under it when I dipped it. I cut it out. Pics attached

I can't comment on the rust colour but my cabbage had two vermitid snail tubes grow through it. It wasn't happy but luckily the snails gave in and the empty tubes eventually worked there way out of the coral. It's OK now and healed quickly. Hopefully yours will do the same now that it's been removed.

It does have a lot of tubes running underneath but looks like its more from a feather duster? I'm attaching a pic of the tubes plus what might be a feather duster under it? Thank you for your help!

Not a shedding but may be work or hydroid within the cavity and ironically bumble bee snails are in the area which desire worms

Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? Dip didn't seem to work unfortunately When I pulled the cabbage out of the water, the worm thing came out on it's own from a soft tube, not a hard one, and I just clipped it off with small scissors

It will heal on its own- just a slow process

There are more tubes still under mine (the coral looks white as I've over exposed the picture to enhance the dark area underneath). It's never been much of a grower in my tank but goes through its cycle of shedding like clockwork and as you can see, polyp extension appears OK.

Mine looks like that ad well underneath, except the tubes are hard which makes me think it's a feather duster I have under it as well. In the 1st pic u can see the duster. My polyps haven't came out for awhile

I see ciliate sponge and tube worms. The sponge can be removed with a dental pick or small crochet needle and the tube worms snapped off at their base with a tweezers and discard

Update on original post. This issue has gotten worse and I'm at a loss on what to do
