Hey everyone,

could someone identify these red spots for me? They’re all over my sump and have recently stated appearing on the glass in my display as well.

OMG - You have an infestation of Red planaria flatworms and these are Not the good guys. I am the person that does NOT believe in use of chemicals but this may be one for Salifert flatworm Exit. Follow directions precisely and plan on siphoning the dead ones daily as they can release toxins. You can also siphon as many as you can with 1/4" hose into a nylon stocking or similar and discard.
Once dimished, a springieri damsel or wrasses such as yellow coris, lunare. 6 line or melanurus will eat the remainder. Once cleared, pull as much algae as you can by hand and reduce white light intensity or even turn lights off 3-5 days.
Additionally, it is highly likely you have many flatworm eggs in the tank which will need to be scraped off as flatworm medication will have NO effect on eggs
