Cool! I put them back!
Has there ever been any instances where these amphipods have further damaged fish with eye damage or open wounds?
I ask this because I had a tang with eye damage that I put in the hospital tank and the next day his eye was much worse with these guys crawling on his eyes and body.

Is it possible that they could over feast on the dead tissue of a damaged fish or eat the weakened white eye of a fish with eye trauma?

Just the ones he could find mine did the same and at night my tank is swarming.

I only have a 24G cube with no fuge and I haven't seen a single one in weeks. But now that my Aiptasia is gone, I'm probably going to give the fish back and hopefully my pod population comes back.

That's crazy, although I wouldn't be surprised if they are eating the already dead flesh around the wounds.

Feed him mi

Never heard of amphipods on fish except when a fish had died. All fish that are healthy surely would not allow anything on them except for cleaner shrimp or predatory isopods.

If the fish was able to swim in your case, then they could have been flukes or predatory isopods.
