Did some research I'm pretty sure its dinos it only grows on my sand bed guess I have to do some research on how to combat it

Check out the dino sticky. Just start with the first post. You don't need to read the whole thing. Post here if you have questions. I'll be glad to help out.

Diatoms not a dinoflagates.

if this is just diatoms then this is the worst case of diatoms ive ever seen in my 18 years of reefing lol but it could be nothing is 100% the only i will know for sure is to get a microscope because as of now 3 weeks since it started its not getting any better and i already had a diatom bloom when i first started my tank 4 months ago and it was a light dusting

Diatoms don't go away over lights out like that.

Check your nutrients. I bet your phosphates are at or very close to zero.

yea i didnt think so either my tank has come down with marine velvet or brook its taken out most of my fish i have 2 left in QT but they are struggling. ive had my tank blacked out since sunday so now most of the dinos is gone ive been dosing the tank with microbacter 7 and skimming heavily it looks to be working at least until i put the lights back on a regular schedule once my tank goes fallow i guess i will know for sure then

I notice now some green hair algae is growing in 2-3 spots and the dinos is still not growing back so it seems to be working now i guess i have to make sure the gha doesn't get out of control

Dinos will come back in nutrients aren't maintained. GHA is a good sign that the scales are tipping in your favor against dinos.
