Identify this coral

Trying to save this coral that had a severely crushed stem & looked to be rotting. Cut the stem, but it is now a nub. This is supposed to be a leather coral, possibly sinularia leather??? Can anyone identify this coral? And what are the chances it will survive? See picture. Thank you.

Softies can be very durable. Could be a toadstool?

Leather Toadstool or a devils finger. Pretty indestructible .. I once cut the foot of mines to get it off the rock and place elsewhere within a few weeks the cut foot started growing polyps.
