Identify this tang ( black tang )

found this tang at my lfs for $20 I think is these 2 tangs on the google screenshots my brother thinks it’s a Thompson tang ? Any other guesses ?

Hi, Reeferx13!

Looking at its slender shape, and especially that tail, I'd say your brother's got the right of it - Thompson's tang; Acanthurus thompsoni is also sometimes called the scissor tail tang. Not a common tang, so not sure there's a ton of info about it out there.
