I want them.
Honestly guessing and bumping, but either a sponge or if its calcareous, a corraline.
Are they hard or soft?

Hi they felt quiet hard
They just randomly started growing my fish don't seem to bother them

It could be lobophora. Does it feel rubbery?
I had the brown variety in my tank, started off innocently enough and then started to spread to other rocks :(

@mdbannister Can we move this? its pretty cool.
@price the AA forum doesn't show up as well to r2r users. Check out the forums page.

Moved to Algae ID forum.

Original poster is you want it returned to Advanced Aquarist just pm me.

I will look around and see if I can find an ID.It might be a plating form of coralline and you'll know for sure if you can snap a piece off, if it rips, tears off or pulls off than it's probably not coralline.

Welcome to R2R. :)

I managed to get a peice off a smaller one just seemed to break off
Will I need to add anything to the tank to make it grow or will it just grow in normal conditions thanks

What is hard and did it crumble?

It's already growing in your tank so whatever you're doing the unknown finds its favorable. I like the plating out look to it.
