Possible to get a better picture closer and from the side of your tank?

That picture is 10 years old from a 125g that I sold when I moved. I'm setting up a new tank a 45g JBJ. I purchased it already set up, so it's cycled and all the parameters are in check. I'm going to add more rock and let it run for a bit but another clown, an anemone, and some coral are in order down the road. Whatever coral that was thrived in the last tank so I wanted to get one. I dont know if it was a Xenia or a kenya tree.

Looks like anthelia. Although it’s blurry and hard to tell. Google anthelia and see if it brings back memories.

looking at the various soft corals that seems to be the one. The clue on the description of sometimes attaching itself to steep rocks....which this did, kind of seals the deal. Thanks.

Congrats on the new tank!!! @ReeferBlaine might be able to help you with the ID, he likes his softies and leathers and has some of the nicer pieces I've seen. It is most likely a kenya tree which you can easily find... but a lot has changed since you last had a tank you should check out the corals coming out of Japan. Some beautiful stuff!

Hey softie lover here!

@BighohoReef brought me here, can you take a picture of it a little closer to see the polyps? Also to see the stalk closer would be good, nice tank! May help with ID though, but a shot in the dark looks like a nice thicker section of brown kenya tree coral!

I will see if I can find the original image. This was an old tank of mine. I'm setting up a new smaller JBJ45 and starting to look at soft corals. The was one corner of the tank and I had a lot more, but the new tank is small so I have to be selective with what I put in.
