My LFS has this coral but said they're not sure what it is.

Anyone know what it is?

I'm saying a micromussa species, but I have no idea. Did you see it's feeder tentacles at all? Micromussas kinda like....turn themselves inside out to eat with their tentacles, it's pretty unique.

Pretty much every lps that grows similar feeds like that, acans, homophyllia, goniastrea, etc. Wish it occurred quicker though as my fish and snails just use them as punching bag food dispenser during feeding time

No I didn't see feeder tentacles out. It's mixed with a bunch of micromussa, favites, and a few blastos. Lfs said its probably an acan lord but it doesn't look anything like an acan to me.

I want to pick it up but I'm trying to stay away from favia and favites because of the long sweeper tentacles they have as I have limited space.

Micromussa and blasto usually don't have long sweeper tentacles as far as I know and haven't waged war in my reef yet!

I dont think they ever get sweepers, they can attack like this

I can't seem to find anything like it with the star/spirl pattern that would help me ID it.

All really good thoughts on it everyone!! Keep the comments coming, hoping someone can clearly ID it.

Thanks!!!
