Hey guys so I checcked my phosphates about 5 days ago with a hannah checker and it read .29ppm and I dosed about 6 drops of coral rx just to see if it would drop it or keep it consistent. Well today I tested and it exceeded the hannah checkers limit somehow...The only thing I have changed was feeding coral food for 2 days and feeding about half the reccomended amount. I did feed a little heavy LRS food because I did get new fish and was making sure their was enough food to help limit aggression. I just dosed 10 drops of lanthanum chloride to hopefully bring down the phosphates to readable level and take it SLOW this time. How much can I drop po4 safetly. my tank is a 180 gallon reef sps dominant . Thanks

What test kit you use exactly?

So tested this mornign and now the hannah checker is not blinking at 200 but a solid 200ppb not the best but progress. I just added 5 drops this morning and will test tonight to see how much it drops and will probably leave it alone until tomorrow to dose a few more drops. Im thinking this should be slow enough right?

If you fed something like a reef roid I have found that if your tank doesnt have a good system of export that they will cause your phosphates to climb pretty quickly. I should set my reefbot to do a test before and after and post the results but i have noticed the color on my po4 tests changes a fair bit after feeding reefroids.
