I do have black sand and have heard that this could be a cause of the issue as well possibly

1 sm chevron tang [only in the tank cuz it was getting bray up in my 140g ]

what kind of light in your refugium? I found once I had a strong enough light for it, that the refugium algae was out competing the display

we correct tanks in this condition all the time, agreed lets start w a bed change out/skip cycle nutrient remover. at least in the display, if your refugium sand isn't as loaded it can stay. post pics

algae control is not about nutrient detailing its about using cheats that kill it so you don't have a headache. then do all the legit stuff to prevent the return

nowadays, everyone is using the preventatives as the remover. stressing corals, starving, changing nutrients in response to algae but what we do is set nutrients to what corals want, and kill the algae as a cheat move.

Yes indeed you can starve it out/tweak params further but as you can tell its not ideal. there are details about your issue from pics that help more than any param posted, if you aren't using bad topoff water then that's all that's needed to fix up your tank. there's a way to take it apart, kill the algae, fix the sand, and put back together the reef you want with your existing parts. nothing beats a skip cycle cleaning

no pill you could add to your water to kill the algae helps from as many angles. we have large threads on these rebuilds, lets do

So this is what I am battling Idk what to do day by day getting even worst I am about to just give up on this hobby 2 crashes in the last 6 months and now this

Fixable. I bet I have fifty equivalent pictures shown in just the reefcentral peroxide pest challenge thread alone. Ripe for a test rock here.

Also, if you were to reach in a grab sand, then drop it, would it cloud bigtime? I wouldn't do that but was wondering, to gain a picture of the full deal

A test rock is so easy and harms nothing. Take one rock out that's easy to get, on one portion dump 3% peroxide across the algae and don't remove the algae by hand, let it be wet for three minutes outside the tank, rinse off. Test area #1

Same rock, other side, use a steak knife to scrape out the algae section. Dental surgery. Hard work for your hesitation spot :) and debride algae there by metal. Once clean, use peroxide to rinse off the already clean spot. This is nuke test spot #2

Put the test rock back in, chart it against the rest of the tank. Best method ever

We reset your sandbed, burn the algae back to stone ages, and you resume reefing in the clean state and all the common prevention methods are tried to hopefully stop growback. You will have no algae that's for sure. We can cheat it out and take its food too. We do not need to know your nutrient levels, the clouding test tells us.

We tried a harsh vs easy application test, to reveal the least work we could upscale to the rest of the tank. We never rushed into anything, you can pre model your whole tank fix with one tiny test rock. Ps, you will like it :) perox is the ultimate rule breaking cheat of all time. It's mere mention is grossly offensive to many.
